we're back up and running computer-wise (keep your fingers crossed). it's been interesting handwriting the old fashioned way our sales slips etc! but because all of you are so patient with us we managed to do just fine! we still have plenty of christmas stamps, papers, etc for your holiday card making plans, and outstanding samples for inspiration. we've also received a lot of reading material including the winter take ten and the stamper's sampler! congrats to kathy honick who's card was featured in stamper's sampler using the adorable eat cake graphics stamp "home of the brave" that she purchased at...where else..but the inkspot!

saw this at cha and couldn't wait to come back and make one for the store! we tweaked things here and there, added embellishments, distressed, crumpled, cut, pasted, pop dotted ( is that a word?), spritzed, smooched and primarily used the fab new graphic 45 christmas emporium collection (with a little help from another vendor ) to make this amazing altered art box from graphic 45! don't you just love the metal key plate and knob! so vintagy, so nostaligic, so delightful!

about owning a store is going to the trade show called CHA! it's just so inspiring and all the "eye candy" to see and be inspired by is fantastic! it's also about the only time when i can actually "make" something!!!! (running a business takes up most of my time!). so when i go to the show i try to take some classes etc, and this year we made this darling "scrappy" book! i know it's stepping out of our comfortable stamping "box", but because i just had so much fun making it and so delighted with the final project that i thought i'd throw the following idea out there in inkspot blogland...would anyone like to see this done as a class? i'm thinking the cost would be about $20 (give or take a few bucks). so please shoot me an email at inkspotofnatalie@yahoo.com if this would be something of interest to you. we'll go from there if i hear from enough people! i promise that you'll be pleased as punch after making it!

maggi has designed a unique and versatile home dec project that we're calling "mantle blocks". in this class you will be using cut pieces of wood and decorating them as the basis for an interchangeable decorative piece for your mantle, table, window sill etc! the blocks will have a clothespin attached, so you can change the theme throughout the year! you'll make the kit featuring the fourth of july as pictured! maggi has designed another kit for FALL as seen in the pictures, but this is just to show the possibilities and ways to use the blocks! in this first class you'll make the blocks and the 4th of july tags. future classes or kits for other seasonal tags will be offered subject to interest. join maggi on either tuesday may 24 at 1p or saturday may 28 at 10a. class cost with all supplies included is $35. future classes/kits will run in the $15-20 range. give us a call or email to sign up!

sorry for the delay in blogging, but between counting inventory (fun), ordering (really fun), and receiving new shipments (really really fun) there are hardly enough hours in the day! but just to keep you posted the denami shipment (quite large with every "chickie" imaginable), stamping bella (lots of new/different artists), northwoods (our selection had gotten quite small), hero arts, and memory box are in, and well i guess you can see how busy we've been! will be doing a major email blast soon with all class info including our guest artist bianca mandity here on jan. 21 and jan. 22. will have lots of pictures on the blog soon showing class samples etc. stay warm and safe!
